|
Rick Biondi earned a Bachelor of Arts in Political Science from the University of Washington in 1997 after matriculating from Shoreline Community College in Seattle. He continued his studies at the University of Idaho (1997-1999) where he specialized in international organizations and law. During graduate school, Rick focused on “capability theory,” which predicts that strong states use international organizations, such as the United Nations, to augment their power, while weaker states rely on such institutions to constrain the power of more capable states. His areas of research included NATO, the United Nations and the International Criminal Court. After years of studying freedom, democracy and the correlates of war and peace, Biondi concluded that the best way to achieve a secure and lasting peace is to defend and extend individual liberty through free federal union. Coauthored: "Capability Theory and the Future of NATO's Decisionmaking Rules," Journal of Peace Research (2001) |
